In my preparations of doing my regular day job, I stumbled across something that I have NOT seen in any other real estate market in Texas; a market where the average home price is STILL GOING UP. Not only still going up, but they never dipped. Was shocked to come across this.
I have 2 theories as to why this might of happened:
1. When the entire market took off, this market did not see the same highs as pretty much every other region, so they had less to fall down from. Also the polar opposite situation as Austin.
2. This market is still below the national average, and it could be playing catch up.
I used 3 different sources of data in my research, all showing the same trends, so I'm fairly confident this is truly happening. Whether it's a slow squeeze, a function of rising costs, or a combination of both, it was truly surprising and refreshing to come across this.
If you you would like to see some of the reports I was able to pull together, please feel free to reach out.
