NTCAR is not a residential MLS board — it is the commercial real estate trade association for North Texas. It runs no MLS. If you do commercial work in DFW it is a genuinely useful membership, and it sits alongside your residential board rather than replacing it.
What NTCAR Is (and Is Not)
The North Texas Commercial Association of REALTORS® is a commercial real estate trade association founded in 1993 and based in Addison. Its stated purpose is to enhance member success in commercial real estate through relationships, recognition, professionalism and advocacy.
It is important to be clear about what NTCAR is not. It does not operate a Multiple Listing Service, and membership does not give you residential MLS access. Commercial practitioners in North Texas generally work from commercial data platforms rather than an MLS, and NTCAR’s value is in the network, the education and the advocacy rather than in a listing database.
That makes it an addition rather than an alternative. An agent doing commercial work in DFW would typically hold a residential board membership for MLS access — MetroTex or ARBoR, for instance — and add NTCAR for the commercial side.

No MLS — Here Is What You Get Instead

What NTCAR Membership Looks Like for a TA Agent
Every Texas Ally agent joins a local REALTOR® board of their own choice — the brokerage cannot join for you, and different territories call for different boards. We are a member broker, which makes NTCAR available as one of your options. Here is how it works if you pick it.
If you choose NTCAR as your local board
- You apply to NTCAR directly under our brokerage sponsorship.
- You pay association dues straight to NTCAR. Texas Ally does not mark them up, administer them, or take a cut.
- Because NTCAR operates no MLS, you will still want a residential board membership alongside it for listing access.
- Your commission arrangement with us is unchanged: 100% to you, a flat $99 a month, and flat transaction fees — on commercial deals as well as residential.

Can Texas Ally sponsor my NTCAR membership?
Yes. Texas Ally is a NTCAR member firm, which is the prerequisite that lets our agents join. Once you are sponsored at Texas Ally, you apply to NTCAR directly and pay dues to them. We do not mark up or administer those fees.
Do I have to join NTCAR specifically if I work with Texas Ally?
No. Every agent picks the local board that fits their market. NTCAR makes sense if you are working Dallas–Fort Worth. If you are mostly elsewhere in Texas, another board will serve you better — and we are member brokers at those too.
Does NTCAR membership give me MLS access?
No. NTCAR operates no MLS. For listing access you need a residential board — MetroTex and ARBoR both put you on NTREIS. NTCAR is an addition to that, not a substitute for it.
How much are NTCAR dues?
The association sets and collects its own dues, and they change year to year, so they are the only reliable source. Contact them directly on (214) 638-5525 or at ntcar.org for current figures. Whatever they are, they are paid to the association — not to us.
Do I need NTCAR if I only do residential?
No. It is aimed squarely at commercial practice. If you never touch office, industrial or retail deals, your residential board covers what you need.
